1 Kings 13

Many times of late, HYH (pronounced Ah-Yah) has guided me to a passage contained within 1 Kings chapter 13 (almost the entire chapter, starting from verse one). In this passage, we have the story of a man of Elohim, a prophet, who is directed to prophesy to King Jeraboam, a wicked king.

But the main thrust of this story is not concerning what occurs with this prophecy, but what takes place afterwards, with another prophet, an older man of the Sovereign One.

Originally, the younger man of Elohim receives his directions from HYH, and is specifically told Not to eat bread, nor drink water in this place, the place to which he was sent to perform his duties to HYH. And up until he met the older prophet, this younger prophet did fine in obeying the Fathers commands. However, once the older prophet comes to the younger, the old says this,

I too am a prophet as you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of HYH, saying, Bring him back with you to your house, that he may eat bread and drink water.

However, the verse continues in saying, He was lying to him.

The older prophet, who was indeed a true prophet of HYH, lied to the younger when he told him an angel had spoken to him concerning coming back and eating and drinking at his house. Yet the younger prophet believed this lie which was spoken to him, and so went back with the older prophet to his house, and ate bread and drank water there.

It was at that point which the word of HYH once again spoke, only this time He spoke the truth through the older prophet, and said,

Thus says HYH; Because you have disobeyed the word of HYH, and have not kept the commandment which your YHVH Elohim commanded you, But you came back, ate bread, and drank water in the place of which I said to you, Eat no bread and drink no water, your corpse shall not come to the tomb of your fathers.

And of course, after this, the younger prophet left the older ones house, was killed by a lion (But not eaten or mauled by it a miracle in itself), and was laid by the older in a tomb in that land, so that he came not to the tomb of his fathers.

What, you may ask, is the point of this study? Simply this:

If, once you who serve the Father, hear His word to you and begin to obey His commands to fulfill them, and anyone, no matter who they are, even another servant of HYH, even a respected and anointed minister, contradicts this word you have received, do not accept this word and follow it. To do so will bring about your ruin and destruction, and quite possibly, separation from HYH.

Now, was this young man lost to HYH, simply because he believed the older prophet? Most certainly not. He was a servant of the Father, and it was as such that he died, though in shame did he die.

What HYH has shown me in this is that we, as His children and servants, must adhere to what the Sacred Breath reveals to us, whether through divine revelation or through studying His Word, as long as what we hear lines up with Scripture, we must continue to follow this revelation, no matter who speaks otherwise to us, or how many speak otherwise to us, contrary to this word we have received.

Even as the Apostle Paul, when he was enroute back to Yerushalayim, was told by a prophet that going there would mean his imprisonment, Paul would not be deterred from his mission. And indeed, he was imprisoned once he reached the city, but his imprisonment brought about the salvation of many, even stretching through the centuries, for many of the letters he wrote to the Believers back then, which we yet read as Scripture today, were written while a captive of and in Rome.

Many times in the past I have witnessed Believers who have known what they were to do, and yet a minister of some ranking came to them and told them to do otherwise, and these Believers acceded to the minister, reasoning in this manner, He is an anointed man of God [sic]; if I follow what he tells me, and it is wrong, then he is responsible, not me. I am just following what a man of God [sic] told me to do.

In this manner many Believers have turned aside from following their Father and Savior, though they either knew already what they were to do contrary to this advice from a minister, or they knew that what was being told to them seemed wrong or at least, not quite right, yet they went along with it, because the person who spoke to them was seen as a man of God [sic], a minister or prophet of some type.

Yet the Father Himself tells us through this story in 1 Kings 13 that we are never to go against what we already know to be the revealed word of HYH to us, whether it be our Sacred Breath inspired understanding of Scripture, or a divine revelation we know to be correct. We must always follow the word of HYH, not that which contradicts it, even if delivered to us by one we believe to be anointed.

Those who follow anothers counsel, when they suspect it may be in error, or when it goes contrary to what they have already known to be true, will be held responsible by HYH for their actions, and will ultimately pay the penalty for their transgression, whatever that may be, when HYH decides it is time to pay it.

Our Savior has told us, Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men, thus showing us that as long as we are true to Him, to obey what He tells us and shows us, then we will be able to perform His work and follow His will in the manner to which He has called us. But if we fail to heed Him and begin to listen to another, we have ceased listening to the word of our Father, and have believed the word of a deceiver. The penalty will be ours to pay.

I urge all who read this study today to continue on in the counsel and word of HYH, the Creator of mankind and all that exists, and the Savior of your eternal soul. Hear Him, heed His word to you today, perform it as unto the Father, and do only that which you know in your heart is what you are supposed to do. It is the only way for you to remain His servants and to abide in His will for your lives.

His servant,

FYI, David is out of town and will be back soon. Knowing David like I do, he is not running away. I deleted your post to another person so as to not cause any distress to the poster. ~Minister Falcon
